I've been playing the new beta quite a bit and DD truly rocks!

I came across a large door (2x2 the normal "square" size) with a texture like on the menu screen. But can't open it. Should it be possible to open?

 

tested device: Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.2)

 

edit: or is this part of the not-yet-done ending sequence?

There is actually a bug in the beta test I sent out that made all the dialog after the first area not display. This has since been fixed. I think I'll send out another beta version this weekend so that those things can be tested. Unfortunately, the bug causes the dialog to be saved as already been displayed so it won't come back on a character's save game. A player will need to start a new game. I'll go ahead and add in scaling for the dungeon's level based on the player's level too. The creatures in the game actually have about 80 levels attacks and creature types. :)

Actually, I found a regular door on Lvl 7 (I think it was) that I couldn't open either. I figured you had just left blocked for expansion levels. (I would claim that anyway in your position :P )

Yeah, that door on level 7 cannot be opened. Though, perhaps I could unseal it at a certain point, and let the player explore outside of the dungeon. I wouldn't mind putting some branches in the dungeon. Perhaps have some puzzle levels kind of like Nethack's Sokoban levels.

Yeah.. I can't open that big door at level 14. I killed the main character on that level but it will not let me pass. I started a new game, got to the same level, killed the boss character, and still nothing. I just got the game 2 weeks ago, and the Android market update is saying my version of the game is up to date. Any ideas?

This is a bug with save games. When I play through on my phone, the ending triggers every time. Though, some people it doesn't. I did get some save games from someone who this occurred to. It doesn't trigger on that save game, so I am debugging through it. I'll be releasing an update with some new features this weekend. The fix for this issue will be in there. I don't want this to mess up for anyone, so I'm going to fire the event based on data that isn't saved or loaded. Instead, I'll loop through all the creatures at the trigger point, and see if the boss isn't loaded or alive. That should be 100% reliable.
