i am really into oldschool rpgs like eob trilogy or dm so i was really thrilled about this game, as it is afaik only "square rpg" on android ... and it is not a bad one! here are few suggestions:

 

  • free look is abnormally annoying... as i cannot pick up items from the square where i actually am and i can target enemies only in front of me (even once targeted, i can shoot them diagonally aha?!) i found no use for it ... it only bothers me when i want to open door or pick something up or even worse when i am casting spells ... as i am not always 100% precise, usually i end turned some 20° from my deceased enemy when using spells in battle .... it would be so nice to have possibility to turn the free look off! then i might even interact with items on click, not doubleclick!
  • it would be nice to see more stats like physical damage, spells  damage and magic resistance ... how am i supposed to spend hardly earned skill point when i have no idea how strong the spells are?
  • the monsters are quite unbalanced .... most of them are way too easy while the others kills me with only one strike! or is it just me playing bad?
  • most of the locked doors have no point as it is possible to simply walk around them ... why are they locked then?
  • all the dark dungeon is really dark ... really, i can't see a s...pider, captain. im on 11th floor and still even with my phone brightness on 100%, objects on 3rd square are almost invisible, which makes me to watch the "radar" rather than the main window. i'd appreciate possibility to mess with gamma correction

I am actually working to address these issues currently since I'm now working on some feature updates that will come after the expansion.

1. I am going to improve the targeting and also increase the threshold for double taps.  I notice the same issues on devices like the Galaxy Player 5.0.  I think some devices just have a lower resolution for touch coordinates, and they appear to need a larger threshold for things like double tap to work well.  The use for free look is targeting creatures diagonal to you.  You can target with a double tap.  Also, it makes it easier to pick up items on the ground if you look down.

2. I'll add some combat messages once I add the configuration page and get away from the menus.  This will report on how much damage you are doing.  Information of how damage is calculated with spells can be found in the Guide on this website.

3. I am not a fan of monsters that are of equal difficulty by area.  I prefer games like Dark Souls, Nethack, or Dwarf Fortress where there are both weak and strong creatures.  When generating levels the stronger creatures usually appear only half as much as other creatures.  Some creatures have devastating attacks.  As you increase in levels, creatures gain new abilities.  Some of these abilities may change what is most damaging to your character build.  Some creatures are stronger against some builds than others.

4. You can also bash though locked doors with a two handed weapon.  Though, you may alert creatures to your area.  Locked doors are very beneficial in higher difficulty games where there is permadeath.  You can lock doors to prevent creatures from passing into certain areas.  Locked doors also prevent the player from quickly running through the level and can cause a bit of tension when the player is trying to run but their path is blocked by a locked door that they must bash down or fiddle through their inventory to find a key for.

5. I may increase the seeing distance for dark dungeon areas by another section.  As for gamma, there are gamma correction programs on Marketplace.  They require an extra permission, access to system settings, to install.  I won't put such a thing in a game.  People tend to complain when games have access to such permissions.

Ok, as far as the free look goes. I have found that if I delay free look to 200 ms after a tap, then there is usually no movement on the screen. I'll go ahead and go with this in the next update.

I went ahead and fixed your issues with view distance and free look. Update you copy to 2.0.1 when it is available to you.
