I recently saw a comment that said that a the Samsung Vibrant does not play the game. The person did not contact me so I could not verify or fix whatever issue he had. According to my stats, there are 22 people with this phone. The phone is a variant of the Galaxy S which 58 people have.
For those that own this phone, do you run into lockups with 1.0.9? I haven't heard any complaints about this, so I am assuming that the person's phone may be the issue in this case. |

I don't know how to find out what version of the game I am running. I purchased it last night from Android Market, though, and the next thing I knew it was 4 a.m. and I was still playing. Thank you very, very much. I have a Samsung Galaxy S, GT-I900 running version 2.2 of the OS. And yes, last night, I did experience 2 hard crashes where I had to take the batteries out of the phone to get it to start again. All the controls did nothing.
The first time this happened I was in the level 1 'store' selling things. The second time I was either unlocking or opening a door. I did not write down what level I was at, sorry. If I can be of any help in providing you with more information, just let me know what to do.
And thank you very much for a terrific game, one that brought back so many memories.
Best,

Thanks for the information. Sounds like it could be something related to input. I thread input and synchronize it with the rendering to ensure data isn't accessed at the same time in two different threads. Perhaps the Galaxy S has some sort of issue with this. |

Very strange. Android actually sends me error reports for most crashes and application freezes that it detects. I didn't receive any for the time you mentioned. In fact, I haven't gotten any for months. It makes me think that this may be a bit deeper down than my app. Perhaps something with the OS or hardware. I do have instances where my phone, MyTouch 4G, stops responding, and I have to pull the battery. Though, it happens in other apps like GMail.
Seems that people on some forums have mentioned their Galaxy S sometimes locks up when it gets too hot. |

For what it is worth, I have never had this happen with any other app, and I run my phone almost constantly all day
long (since we are developing a phone app, among other game-filled reasons). My phone has run no hotter in the time
since I have discovered deadly dungeons than it has the rest of the year. |

Are any of the other apps OpenGL ES apps? If the entire phone freezes up and you cannot use the home key to exit the app, then that means that the OS isn't even responding. Android apps should not be able to lock up the entire device.
If you want to test this further, you would likely need to download the Android SDK, and keep an eye on LogCat to see if any errors are reported before the phone locks up.
It sounds like we have eliminated some sort of input or threading issue. Right now, it sounds like the issue could be something with either graphics rendering or perhaps audio. |

Locate the adb command in the platform-tools directory in the Android SDK you downloaded. Then, run this command:
adb logcat
If you have your android device plugged into the usb of your laptop, then it should detect the device and display the logcat info. It will constantly update. |

ok, will try running like this for a while. Though with my luck, I will end up only getting crashes when I am
waiting for the bus, etc. |
