Got three of them but can't work out how to use them on the doors. Help appreciated. What a fun game this is!

Since your question was posted in March, I'm guessing you've already figured it out.. but just in case... Either click on the key in your inventory, in which case it will pop up a button to let you lock/unlock a door, or if you have the key in your "quick slots" at the bottom of the screen along with potions, just click the key. It will lock an unlocked door or unlock a locked door. Be careful to only tap it once or it will relock the door. Also be aware that the key can randomly break in the lock, so always carry a spare (unless you like the long walk back to buy another).

when you have no key, swing a 2h axe, or 2h sword at the door after a few times it will break the door, if your a mage like me with 10 st, than it after a lot of times (like 20+)

There's a chance that bashing a door will alert monsters in the area to your presence and send them all after you, but it doesn't seem to be enough of a problem (at least so far) to worry about. My STRength is way higher than my agility, so I keep breaking keys.. to the point where bashing the doors is a better answer.

It definitely works, as I've done this for most of my "fighter-type" character. However, I did notice that 2-handedness isn't enough. Only certain of the axes will work. I don't think any crescent axes work, despite being 2-handed. Never tried a sword, but it's probably true of swords, too.
