This is planed after the 3d models update. I'll do a right/left handed controls option for the new configuration options.  Landscape mode is also planned, but that may be in the update after that. :)

I'm really enjoying this game, but it's awkward for me to play with the controls on the right side of the screen.  The core of the game revolves around nimbly navigating around enemies, and that's something I feel I should be able to do with my dominant hand.

Could an option be added to flip the UI?  I'd find that tremendously helpful.

I have finished implementing the 3d models for Deadly Dungeons.  This will replace all the 2d images used for creatures with fully animated 3d models.

I will need this tested on a variety of devices before I release it.  Mainly because there is a performance hit in using the 3d models.  I refrain from drawing any creatures that are not in view.  Though, having a large number of creatures in view can cause slowdowns on some devices.

My phone seems to run the game fine.  Though, I'm currently using a phone that has a dual core 1ghz arm processor.

A black screen would likely mean that some sort of asset is not available and it causes a null exception to be executed.  I catch exceptions in the render function, but just ignore it and attempt to continue on.

I'm not sure if you want to debug this, but if you download the sdk and locate the adb program in platform-tools, you can view the logs that are printed.  If you see a bunch of nulls, then something indeed failed to load.  This may be device specific as I have not run into the issue with any of the devices I have tested on.

As for the back-and-forth through the doorways.  I notice that Android holds onto the input messages while the level is loading, and will execute them after the load.  What likely occurs is that you press a movement button which causes you to go back into the exit as soon as you load the level.  Try not hitting the location where the back button will be during load.

I'll see if there is a way I can discard input messages while the level is loading.

Two problems with current version.

 

1. black screen occurs when trying to log in. I can still get back to main menu to log out. Can create a new character but it eventually ends up with a black screen on load, too.

 

2. In some cases, black screen is precipitated by the following:

 

Go through a "cave" from one level to another. As soon as you are through it you go back through over and over and over. It never stops. When you save and exit, you can come back in and you may get one of the following:

1. a working character

2. continuing back and forth through the cave

3. a black screen.

Any way you end up you can still activate the menu to get exit or go back to the screen that lets you create a new character, choose an old character or exit. I purchased the game during the first week of June.

I plan to add that in, I have a couple images for the various effects already. I'll try to put it in with the next update which will feature full 3d models and animations for all creatures.

I was wondering if you would be interested in putting an icon for current afflictions, like poison, disease, etc, on the top right of the screen. Sorta like the potion icons that currently show up on the top left.

 

There have been a couple times I could only sit and watch my hps draining and cast heal, without really knowing what was causing it.

With my melee char and the hydras (I am ssuming that is what is causing the problem for you) I just took note of how many times I could swing before it got an attack. For me it was 2 swings. So in, swing, swing, move back and keep hitting the weapon button, swing swing, move back...repeat until dead. Also, if you get into trouble or are out of room just jump into a teleporter, heal up and come back.

you could also take a magic spell like flame arrow. You could then shoot your bow, and while waiting for the bow to be available again, cast a spell.

Once you take a skill or spell when you level up, it will automatically popup on the side of the screen. 1 and 2 go right side, 3 and 4 go left side. After that you need to use arrow keys, which will also show up when you have more than 5 skills/spells, to scroll through.

Actually, I forgot about the enhancements to the health and mana potion skills. I didn't publish it, but these two skills actually increase the power and duration of other potions too. Health effects physical altering potions, and mana effects magic altering potions.

Yes, I have just received all of the 3d creature models for the game. I'm going to start working on implementing them into the game. I didn't request a death animation though. I could do what Eye of the Beholder and even the newer Grimrock does and explode the enemy into particles. Perhaps I could color the particles based on the creature and do one from each vertex of the model. That way it goes from the initial form to a bunch of particles. :)

I think an small increase  in duration for stat potions and detection potion would be a good thing. Say an increase of 10 seconds or something long that line.

If I pop them from the character screen, close it, stat fighting/open the map, it potion wears off in a few seconds, not really giving a decent amount of time to utilize it.
